Using BlueHeat® allows you to cut down by over 90% the amount of exhaust emissions from your fleet, compared to idling. Turning off your engine while making deliveries or service calls not only reduces tailpipe pollution it also reduces fuel use. Eliminating idling is smart.

Using BlueHeat® Air Heater instead of idling reduces pollution.
• For every gallon of gasoline used, the average car produces about 20 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2). – Office of Energy Efficiency

Using BlueHeat® Coolant Heater to pre-heat the engine instead of idling reduces pollution.

Back

• During a cold engine start the oil is thick and resists flow, so the engine has to work harder to overcome internal friction. The engine then uses more fuel and creates more pollution in the first minutes after a cold start than at normal operating temperatures.
• Fuel combustion is also less efficient in a cold engine. The air–fuel mixture is richer, which results in a sharp increase of pollutants. Since a vehicle’s catalytic converter doesn’t work when it’s cold, all of the engine’s emissions pass through the exhaust untreated.

Does BlueHeat® make sense for your fleet? Yes, because BlueHeat® keeps your vehicles, drivers, and cargo warm without emitting the pollution from an idling engine.
