Webasto began producing vehicle heaters in 1935. In the 1950s and '60s Webasto developed the first engine-independent vehicle heating systems. In 1961, for the first time, Webasto equipped a Mercedes Benz 300 SE with a BlueHeat® type parking heater. Throughout the next fotry years, vehicle pre-heating grew immensely in popularity in Europe and other parts of the world. Then, in 2002, Webasto introduced BlueHeat® to the North American market.
